Quitting smoking - Day 1

I filled my prescription for patches yesterday and this morning applied my first one

Well, I am very surprised to report that I have had NO addiction cravings today, just the odd habit craving. But the discipline I've learned through WW has put me in good stead and I've made it through the day with no tears, tantrums or crankiness (!).
I've also managed to get out on the treadmill for half an hour AND stuck to points today (I even banked 4).

I know that the next couple of days will be the hardest but if I can get through those I'm certain I have won the war. A secondary achievement would be to not have a gain this coming WI.

As for most of us who make life changes, my motivation to change is my son. He is 10 months old and I do not want him to have any memory of his mother going out for a cigarette. Not to mention the obvious 'prolonging my life' reasons. When Quitline asked me my reasons for wanting to kick smoking, I couldnt answer for a good 10 seconds as i was close to bursting into tears. I just want to be here for my boy. He is all that matters.

Wish me luck :)

*Smacks* for me

It is with some shame, yet also a flair of rebellion that I admit to having a huge night at the BBQ this evening. I've tracked as best I could (hopefully over estimating) and I've clocked up 42 pts for the day... 22 over my allowance. And thinking it over I cant really tell you where. I certainly didnt overeat much. 3 low carb beers, 2 gins and a naughty bourbon, 3 vegetarian sausages, 4 falafel patties, 1 slice of garlic bread and a small serving of seafood salad. Also 2 pieces of fish. Sometimes it is hard being the only vego at a BBQ!! THe chicken kebabs looked divine.
I also had a small dessert - half a slice of some crazy meringue/caramel/pecan pie that someone bought. SO good but I didnt go back for seconds.
Anyway, I felt full yet not stuffed and thought I was very restrained all things considered. I could have stayed all night but the boy was unsettled and we were fighting for a couple of hours to get him to sleep in the portacot (3 under 6's running up and down the hall didnt help matters).
So I will work my butt off over the rest of the week to minimise the damage. I'm a bit disappointed as I was certain I was rather restrained. I mean, I knew I'd be over but not by double my allowance :(
No regrets though. It was yummy!

I got some lovely compliments tonight from a couple of friends. One hasn't seen me since I was 8 months preggo and she said I'd lost a "Shitload of weight" and was quite amazed! I love her!
The other saw me New Years Eve Day and thinks that i have lost heaps since even then! She is the tall, slender, athletic type that we are all ingrained to be envious of and SHE said to ME that I was fading away!! How awesome. I felt a million bucks and even DH was proud of the compliments I received :)
When people notice it is just the icing on the cake.

Also, was almost relieved to get TTOM yesterday which would go a long way to explaining STS and small loss the last 2 weeks. Here's hoping for a cracker on Friday assuming I can get my points back to a nil balance.

Have a great weekend!

WI Day

This week I have been SO good and I feel very proud of myself. I have exercised each day (except one) and even bought the EA Active game for the Wii. I'm going to do Day 4 of the 30 Day Challenge later today.
To anyone that is thinking of getting it, DO! It kicks your butt! I thought I was going to die yesterday doing the sideways jumps - but die in a good way. lol :)

I went to ACDC last night and with last weeks STS fresh in my mind after a night out, I decided to weigh in yesterday morning. I lost 300 grams which is better than nothing but still not quite what I expected. Out of curiosity I jumped ont he scales again this morning to see what th damage from last nights beer and fish and chips was, and to my surprise, had lost another 200 grams. So I'll take the 500 grams for the week thanks very much! Wahoo!
I'm now in the 72's and met my Feb goal.
Excellent.

To celebrate I tried on some of my old pre-baby, pre-fat clothes (size 12) and they fit VERY nicely. I figured that seeing as I felt so good, and I havent taken a progress pic for ages, I'd take some this morning.

Feeling great!

Next challenge - 70kg by Luke's 1st birthday. Hmmm, 2.6kg in 8 weeks. Not sure if I'll get there with my current rate of losses but I'll go for gold anyway. I'm hoping that I've hit a plateau and that it will soon be gone.

Dont be shy to leave comments on this blog if you feel an urge. I'd love to hear from anyone that reads this :)

Have a great weekend!

The perils of a long weekend

Holidays and long weekends - I certainly let myself down more often than not. It must be that I need my routine to stay on course.
As of yesterday I was over by 20 points for the week! This was a combination of lunch out with family, dinner out with friends and FAR too much alcohol.

But all you can do is learn form your mistakes, dust yourself down, and aim for improvement. Thanks to a busy day yesterday (therefore little time to sit and eat) and purchase of a new Wii game, I managed to save 8.5 points. So to recoup 12 over the next 3 days should be achievable if I can stick to my guns.

On Sunday morning I completed my Wii Fit Body Test - and part of this is to get a current weight. I am usually VERY good about sneaky WI's over the course of the week... there is simply no point. You either get cocky or depressed and it doesn't count anyway so why bother.
Anyway, even with a belly full of last nights dinner, and breakfast AND fully clothed, I was in the 72's... I'm cautiously optimistic that I'm looking at a loss this week after last weeks STS.

I was also very flattered on Sunday evening to receive a compliment from DH's friend. DH's friend is a man who does not dish out compliments by the truckload. And he told me TWICE that I looked 'so slim and trim', and how well I had done! I was very touched. Nothing like a compliment to get the motivation on a roll :)

I'm really looking forward to getting home and doing Day 2 of the 30 Day Challenge on the EA SPorts Active Wii game! Day 1 yesterday was tough, and its only going to get more intense. I love it :)

WI Day

We had dinner with the in-laws on Thursday night.
I'm VERY happy to say that it went without a hitch food wise. I was pretty hungry before we left so I had some tuna on rice wafers to get me through and stick to my plan.
I had my poached fish with no sauce, just lemon juice. I said no to fries and potato croquettes, and even when the entree's and shared bread came out I just had my first Salad boat. Had my main with a side of mushrooms and said no to dessert as well (had a teaspoon of DH's sundae but that was it).

I'm so proud of myself! After the 3 bourbons I had which were doubles, I only dipped into my saved points by 4 :)

I was pretty nervous still at WI on Friday, and with good reason.
Gutted.
I STS this week. Which on the surface makes no sense as I was restrained with food and more active than usual with exercise.

But I have a theory!! Last week I was under points by a couple and lost 400 grams. This week (counting exercise points) I had 10 points saved.
So I really truly think that when I dont eat my 20 points a day I dont lose.

This week I'm going to eat ALL my points every day and see if that helps. I just wanted 100 grams to reach my F2F goal!! Rudeness.

DH joked that I ate too many Salad Boats at the restaurant so to test his theory I hopped on the scales again this morning for a sneaky WI *smacks* and was down 1kg!
I wish I'd had that result yesterday!!

I take heart though that I do seem to have lost. Perhaps the Salad Boat was my downfall the night before WI.

Anyway, onward and downward. I was over points by 2 yesterday but I'm not too concerned with my new theory at the ready.

Failing at one thing, succeeding with another

How easy it is to gloss over our successes and focus instead on our disappointments!

Monday was Quit Smoking Day. At 1pm I finished my last ciggie and, armed with water, smints and Nurofen, faced my smoking demon head on.
The rest of the day wasnt too hard although I felt a bit spacey by bedtime. In an effort to distract myself I hopped on the treadmill for half an hour as soon as I got home from work, clocking up 2.5k of running and half an hour all up of running and walking. Yay for 2.5 Exercise Points!

The next morning was tough. I drove for an hour to get to work and then into the office for a stressful day. I took myself off for walks frequently and fought my cravings like a trooper. But golly it was hard work.
By the time I got home I was shattered, emotionally and physically. All I could think about was smoking. I knew it would be tough and that my mind would trick me into 'needing' a cigarette and I held it at bay until just before 7pm.
I became a soggy, weeping mess in the lounge. I was exhausted at the thought of going for another day feeling even remotely like I had been all day.

You guessed it. I caved and went to the shop and bought a pack. Intending of course to "just have 1". 1 turned into 4 when DH went to play golf and forgot to take the evil cigarettes with him.

Words cannot describe how disappointed in myself I am about this. I've called in the reinforcements - Quitline - and am considering hypnotherapy. Clearly I cant do it cold turkey so my patches and gum should arrive soon and I'll tackle it again. I wont let this beat me, but it seems I'll need to fight this war harder than anticipated.

Moving on to more positive news....
I have exercised 4 days in a row now which is MAMMOTH for me at the moment. Sunday was Wii for 20 minutes, Monday was the run, and Tuesday and Wednesday was Wii again for 50 minutes a time. I also tried Wii Boxing for the first time last night and my arms are now killing me. Some mock the power of the Wii, but I think if you are moving and having fun, and end up sweaty with sore muscles, it cant be completely useless!
I'd desperately love to get the EA Sports Active fitness kit, but first I have to convince DH that it will be $100 well spent!

I've also, despite all odds, stuck to my points this week. The only day I went over was Monday and that was only by 1. So far I have a combined total of 10.5 excess points from exercise and those uneaten. We have dinner out tonight and although I have lots of extra points to use, I am hesitant to do so.
I've checked out their online menu, called ahead to make sure I can order fish grilled instead of deep or pan fried, and also plan to have NO FRIES (they come with every meal) and to eat lots and lots of salad from the ever classy Salad Boat.
I've even factored 2 drinks in and despite all this, still have 5 points left for the day PLUS all my saved points.

Success so far. I hope its reflected on the scales tomorrow!

Oh hell.... the day is almost here

I would be lying if I said that I wasn't freaking out MASSIVELY!

We went to Oz for Christmas and I bought a carton of ciggies. I've smoked for the last 10 years, at a rate of about 15 a day.
I told myself that when the carton was gone, that is IT. No more smoking! Its revolting, I lose out on time with my son (now and possibly in the future), and a million other anti-smoking things.
Yet here I am, 9 ciggies left and I am absolutely filling my pants.

DH gave up 18 months ago and fresh in my memory is the 5 days he spent in bed after work, too riddled with the withdrawal symptoms to even sit on the couch and watch TV. The good news is he quit cold turkey and hasn't had a single one since.
And I want to do that too. I really, really do. I don't want Luke to have any memories of me lighting those filthy things. I don't want to spend $50 a week to slowly kill myself.

But I am very scared of what the withdrawal will do to me physically. I have worked so bloody hard for almost 10 months to lose this weight and I worry that I will eat, eat, eat in compensation (although this is unlikely if I remain aware of it. And at the end of the day, what is a small gain in return for a smoke free life?)

I've read Alan Carr's book. Some things struck a chord with me and I just need to keep those cycling through my brain. I'll also borrow from DH's theory while he was quitting that cravings are a trick of the mind, you don't need this, you don't want it and you are stronger than this.

WW has put me in good stead for this challenge. I am a lot stronger than I knew I was before this weight loss journey - surely this is the same philosophy.... say no to "bad" and embrace a healthier lifestyle. Get through the withdrawal just like I did the sugar and fatty food, and just keep trucking.

Next time I post I will be sans cigarette.

Wish me luck.

Gotta love Saturdays

I bought my bra! Finally found a strapless that I like, and was pretty happy at the $20 price tag too.
I do have one question.... how can I be a size 12 in clothes for my top half but a size 16 for bra's? I know I have a wide back but it doesn't do much for the self-esteem :)

I also tackled the grocery shopping today and got myself a treat (unheard of!) Delicious meringue nests, points value 1.5 for 2 (or half a point for one). Yummo. Totally satisfies the sweet tooth while keeping the points value at an all time low.

DH cooked me a gorgeous meal again tonight - Lemon Pepper Cod (baked in tin foil) with a side of steamed/stir fried vege's and a small amount of oven roasted potato wedges (cooked with canola spray not oil). Very good.
I certainly do have a great man.

Heading to bed soon for a decent sleep if the boy cooperates. Its just gone 9pm and we've been trying unsuccessfully to get him down for a nap since about 3pm. I think he's finally worn himself out and has stopped resisting the inevitable. Please sleep through the night Luke!

Finally, a big shout out to all my fellow bloggers. I've had a read of a few the last couple of days and it looks like everyone is really getting into the swing of things post Christmas (and we know how hard that is!). Some awesome losses being clocked up. Keep at it ladies! You are doing a great job.

WI Day

I lost 400 grams this week. Not phenomenal and I admit to being a bit disappointed, but a loss is a loss and I'm now only 100 grams away from getting to my "Fab to Feb" goal of 73kg. Still 2 weeks up my sleeve!
I tend to have 3 or 4 weeks of smaller losses then a week or 2 of larger losses, then back to smaller losses. It is funny how after a while you tend to notice trends that your body throws at you.
Often TTOM will affect losses and gains with we women but I am lucky in the sense that I don't seem to have an obvious correlation. My body has its own rhythm going on :)

The last couple of days has been pretty great food wise. I ended the week 6.5 points in credit due to a loss of appetite the last few days (although I tried very hard to eat all my points).
I did have 3 beers yesterday when I met a friend after work, but 2 days of having alcohol out of 5 is pretty good for me. Especially so close to the end of the festive season when most people are still in cruise mode.

My challenge for this week is to drink at least 500ml of water EVERY SINGLE DAY. I am so shocking at my water intake. Its amazing I'm not a dried up husk.
Feeling better and better energy wise so must be over whatever lurgy I had. I will be getting on the treadmill over the next few days.

We are going to see Avatar in 3D on Sunday with friends so I am racking my brains for some point friendly snacks to take with me. I'm not a fan of plain popcorn. Any ideas welcomed!

Please post a comment and share with me what your favourite healthy movie snack is :)
I'm totally stuck for ideas!

In other news
I had to take my belt in by another hole yesterday :P
Also my size 12 FAVOURITE top from a million years ago now fits perfectly! This is too exciting! I tried it on a month or so ago and it was a bit snug across the hips for me to be wearing it out in public, but now it fits like a dream and I am beyond stoked!

On the WW message boards one of my fellow WWers started a thread which reduced me to tears. Being the chatter box I am I had to contribute too.
The title was "Before WW the old me would have...."

The old me
* Avoided being in photos and as a result, only has about 6 pics of myself with my baby before he was 6 months old. Too sad!
* Thought I could eat my emotions away
* Didnt care how I dressed because nothing could have made me look good so why bother
* Avoided being cuddled by DH because I worried he would suddenly realise how fat I really was
* Avoided social occassions
* Dreaded having to go clothes shopping even when in desperate need of them because I couldnt bear to see myself in a full length mirror
* Looked back at old pics thinking that the best years of my life were behind me

The new me
* Takes lots of pics with my boy - even if it means using a tripod because no one else is around to hold the camera.... because one day I'll be gone and I want him to see how much his mother loved him
* Actually posts AND tags said photos on Facebook!
* Faces my emotions head on and tries to work through them. Or I exercise the frustration away
* takes greater pride in my appearance and is even considering consulting a stylist as GW reward! Unheard of!
* Loves being cuddled by DH and hearing him complain about a new bone sticking into him
* Am desperate to get to 72kg because it means I can go clothes shopping as a reward for a mini goal. I actually have to stop myself browsing at lunch times!
* Is aware that the best years of my life are right now. Coming up 2 year wedding anniversary, lovely baby, maybe moving to Oz from NZ in the near future. I love living and not merely existing

If anything puts our achievements under a microscope, this exercise does.

Have a great Friday!

I love hearing about success :)

A few days ago I made a post about 2 of my friends who have just signed up to WW online.
I received an email from one of them today saying that she has lost 2.9kg in her first week!
Not only that, but she will be entering a half triathlon in February!

So inspiring - it really makes me examine my lack of exercise motivation.

I had a half-sick day today. Slept HEAPS which was great, but just couldn't stomach eating much. I had some cereal and yoghurt for breakfast but couldn't face anything other than cranberry juice until after 6pm when I had a couple of banana's and an apricot.
So many points saved today - 5.5 in fact.
Hey, there has to be a benefit to feeling ill :)

Also, no booze today!

Tuesday, January 12, 2010

Confession

Day 3 of no booze and I cracked. I had a rum :(
But I did stop at 1, and plan to go until Sunday as punishment for my failure.

I had a great points day today - currently sitting at 18.5 and I am stuffed full! DH cooked a wonderful meal of vegetarian lasagna and vegetables and I ate around a quarter of it for 6 points. He had even written down the foods and used my calculator to figure out the points values. Isn't he wonderful!

Still feeling a bit under the weather so I think I'll work from home tomorrow and have a half-day off sick. I think I just need a darn good sleep to be honest.
Luke REFUSES to sleep tonight and we've been battling since 5pm to get him to go down for a nap. Its beyond nap time now and into 'bed for the night' time. If I ever needed a drink it would be now! But I shall be strong.

Monday, January 11, 2010

Monday done and dusted. And I'm shagged!

What a day!
I feel like I've been running about all day even though work was pretty quiet.

Luke went to Grandma's today. DH was meant to start back at work after his holiday but decided last minute to take one more days leave. So I dropped Luke at Grandma's and headed in to the office.
I was really, really good with points all day and even though I had a sneaky V, its better than the 4 bottles I used to chug down.

I decided to go all out today and *drink water*!!
Now, those of you who know me know I cant stand the stuff. It tastes revolting. But I gave it a crack and had my first 400ml bottle at 11am. All up I put away 5 bottles of it but then got the BIGGEST headache around 2pm. So I turned to trusty Google and looked for 'water headache'.
Apparently you can get a headache when you drink too much water!! Something about your brain absorbing it or something and pressing against your skull.

So I quit with the water for today - yet 4.5 hours later I still have the headache.
I tried.

I was ravenous when I got home so dinner was fish, an egg on toast and a pile of glorious vegetables. Usually by this time I'd be settling down with a drink of some kind, but am into day 2 of no booze.... Its making me feel a bit sad really. 4 more days to go!

I don't know if I can make it.

1 point left for the day. Still havent run on the treadmill.
I'm just falling a teensy bit short on the Care Factor scale about exercise today though.

All Talk, No Action

We all have them. Those days where we have so many good intentions - and then like a house of cards they come tumbling down.

Yesterday we hosted a BBQ for a group of 5 other adults and 4 children. It was a wonderful day! The sun was out (for a change) and I had made falafel patties meticulously measured out to half a point each. The guests arrived and the merriment began.

And I poured a bourbon.

I thought I'd have 1 or 2 but fast forward 8 hours and I was still going. One of the couples stayed on til quite late and it was fantastic. We played Wii while the babies slept, chatted and just had a great time. Of course after a few hours post-lunch with a belly full of bourbon, the siren song of the pasta salad became too much. I had 3 bowls.

This morning I collected the treadmill. Yesterday I would have told you I had every intention of going for a run on it. That was until I woke up with a hangover.

So total damage: approx. 10 points over yesterday (which isn't too bad really) and no running. I did manage an hour on the Wii Fit this afternoon while DH was at golf and Luke slept.
One benefit to the hangover was no appetite today so I've saved quite a few points. Yes, I'm in excess of the 4 I'm allowed to save over a day, but my little personal rule is that if I save a heap within 24 hours of damage wrought then it shouldn't put me into 'starvation mode'. It works for me anyway.

Work tomorrow - back into the office for the first time this year and it will be good to be back in a routine.
And my new challenge for the week is no alcohol until Saturday at the earliest! The last few weeks has been rugged on my liver :)

Weigh In Day

It was with trepidation that I hopped on the scales this morning. I have been good all week with points, but did not get any exercise and spent a few of my points on booze each day.

So how happy was I to see a 1.2kg loss!!!
I'm in the 73's! I'm in the 73's! I actually have no idea when I was last flirting with this magical number. It would be at least 4 years.

I danced around the lounge with Luke for a bit and briefly toyed with the idea of waking DH just to tell him, but restrained myself.

*grin*

Its the start of a new week now and seeing as I appear to be past the worst of the caffeine withdrawal, there are no more excuses. I have to start exercising. So the plan of attack today is to go for a run (at least 2.5km's) on the treadmill, and then maybe do some Wii Fit later.
I'm still working from home so will run during my lunch break and the Wii after work.

There. Its out in the public forum now so I MUST do it.

Evening Update
Well, I didn't do my run, but nailed a heap of housework - does that count?
Also VERY excited as:
* DH gave me the thumbs up to get a treadmill off ebay. So now I don't have to stress anymore about the hire treadmill being picked up in a matter of days!
* To my DELIGHT I discovered 98% Fat Free Falafel - only 2 points per 100 grams instead of the usual Falafel which is 4. Lovely to see Woolworths caters to the dieting vegetarian :)
* I had Subway for dinner and only had a 6 inch. I could have had the footlong. I wanted it and had the points there, but I want to try and save some points for the BBQ tomorrow
* I noticed today a 'clink, clink' as I was doing housework. Imagine my surprise to see that my wedding and engagement rings are now loose!

Yes, its been a very good day.

Great news!

Two of my friends have decided to join WW. One just emailed to say that she is signing up RIGHT NOW online. That is too awesome. The other has been doing WW from old booklets for a few months but decided to have a break until Christmas and her recent 30th were over. Now she is thinking of signing up Online as well.
I am so excited for them - I just have to restrain myself from getting all talk-talk-talk at them. It will be hard!

On the food front today I had a good day.
Breakfast was left over pasta from dinner last night, with vege's on toast (4.5pts). My mother in law came over today to visit for a few hours and she bought lunch. I was given a Tuna roll from the bakery. I looked it all up, tracked it and even called the bakery to see if there was mayo mixed in with the tuna (there was but I couldnt tell so it must have been a tiny amount). The whole thing came to 7 points so I had half of it. WI tomorrow and I MUST be careful!
I also realised that I've become 'that' dinner guest. You know, the dieting vegetarian. I must be a nightmare to plan dinner for.... *sigh* My poor family and friends do put up with a lot from me :)

I managed to resist the urge for a sneaky WI this morning which I am proud of. I haven't stepped on the scales since WI last Thursday. And I'm starting to get nervous about tomorrow which I try to look at as a good thing. If I get nervous, it means I care.

Dinner tonight is fish with more vege's. I still have 7 points left post dinner so I might treat myself to a Baileys (3pts).

I'm slack with exercise this week. I'm currently going through horrific caffeine withdrawal from quitting my 4 bottles of V a day habit (sugarfee of course). Today is day 4 and no headache today but NO motivation to do anything. I must go for a run tomorrow, regardless of WI results. Excuses only go so far.

If you get a chance and have a few hours to kill, check out this blog. This fellow started at 505lbs and posts about his calorie counting diet every day. He is also a comedienne so its a darn good read!

Good choices people

The mojo is returning

The holiday was awesome, but now its back to reality. I started back at work yesterday (although can work form home this week - yay) and its time to knuckle down.

I'm not doing too badly with points this week. I WI on Friday and feel optimistic about it. So far I'm 2 points over for the week which I can make up over the next couple of days. No drama.

I've been trawling the WW boards the last few days - the New Year has seen an influx of newbies arrive and I hope they stick with the program. Some of them sound a bit overwhelmed which is understandable but to any newbies that might be reading this - STICK WITH IT! It does work, you can do this, and if you quit you'll not have achieved much.
You joined because you want to lose weight. If you quit, you'll still feel how you've always felt. And you deserver better than that.

Its mid-morning so time for a snack. Off to have mushrooms on toast I think for 2 points. Mmmm.

Happy slimming!

2010 - shake your bon-bon!

Hello everyone! Its a shiny New Year and its time to blog my journey.

A bit about me:
I'm a 29 year old Kiwi, wife to DH and mother to a beautiful baby boy who is now 9 months old.
I've been overweight for practically forever, other than a 2 year stint a few years ago where I felt (and looked IMO) great.
However, I met DH and became complacent. Too much good food and bourbon led me down the path to overweight-ness and my self esteem suffered. When DH and I got engaged I tried to lose weight and I think I lost a bit, although the wedding day rolled around with me in a size 18 dress. Thats OK though - I was the bride and still felt a million bucks.
After the wedding I decided it was TIME TO GET SLIM! So off I went, hiring a treadmill and psyching myself up for weight loss. I was just getting into it when I discovered that it had taken us WAY less time than I thought to get pregnant, so the weight loss went out the window.
It turns out that I am not graceful when pregnant and I was absolutely gagging to get my body back to myself. So 2 days after Luke was born, I joined WW Online and havent looked back.

My starting weight was 97kg and I set my goal to be 75kg by Christmas 2009.

As the weight shifted, I learned so much about myself. I never knew I was as strong as I am. Having a tiny baby and watching what you eat is no mean feat, and somehow I managed to slowly incorporate exercise into my day.
I often joke that WW is like a religious experience. I am passionate and can often be found lecturing all and sundry on the WW message boards.
In my humble opinion it is all about the 3 P's: Patience, perseverance and proactivity.

I have bad days and I have good days. There are weeks where I have to fake it til I make it, but eventually the mojo returns and its full steam ahead.
There are small gains and larger losses but overall I'm averaging about 500 grams loss a week. Can't complain!

I made my Christmas goal, weighing in at 74.2kg the week before Christmas. Stoked!! We holidayed in Brisbane where most of my family now live and I tried to eat well, but with no access to my tracking tools and the general holiday spirit, good intentions took the odd day off.
After our 8 day holiday I had a gain of 1.6kg, but 2 days of good eating saw me lose 1.1 of that.

So here I am, starting 2010 at 74.7kg. I have reassessed my goals and am now aiming to be 73kg by February, 70kg by Luke's birthday at the end of March, and an overall goal of 67kg by the end of June.

I couldn't have made it this far without the WW message boards. All of you are inspiring, generous with kindness and positivity, and you keep me accountable.
A special shout-out goes to the S2S girls. Without you, it would have taken me a lot longer to get up when I have fallen. You are special, incredible people and I can't wait to meet you in May in SYDNEY!! Wahoo, bring it on!

So that is me.
I hope that I can find inspiration and support from those who read this blog. Its scary to put myself out there, but nothing ventured is nothing gained.

Here's to 2010 - Goal weight and beyond!
