Yahoo! I've got my running Mojo back

I completed the 2k fun run on Sunday and was very proud of myself. Because I came 1st (can I still call it that if I was only competitor? lol), I got a prize of protein shake mix for muscle repair! Very exciting :)

I had a really stressful day on Tuesday and when SIL came up to babysit, I had just enough time to go for a run on the treadmill before we went out to our movie. I ran 3.2k and 25 minutes SOLID!!!

Yesterday I went to the gym and decided to have a run before I did the weight circuit, and I bettered myself yet again.... with a 4.1k run and 31 minutes non-stop! You couldnt wipe the smile off my face! Stoked!

WI tomorrow and I'll be sleeping with my fingers crossed. I went over points yesterday as we went to a friends for dinner, but I had heaps of saved points so I should be OK. I'm such a worry wart. I'm over marginally again tonight as I had a change of plan for dinner, but again the saved points should rescue me.

Off to the horse races tomorrow with DH and the boy - we're meeting a group there. Luke's never been to the races and I admit to being a bit nervous about how to keep him entertained for that long. Ah well, we'll survive!

Will post after WI. Wish me luck!

WI day

Yahoo! Another 600 grams gone this week. I was very happy!
Now I just have 100 grams to lose over 2 weeks to get to my mini goal of 70kg by the 28th March!

I joined the gym today - the lovely trainer managed to twist the owners arm so I got a reduced rate of $20 a week for a 6 month membership PLUS a one hour PT session (scheduled for Monday) PLUS a half hour massage (scheduled for next Monday). I'm totally gagging to get started!

Fun-Run tomorrow so an early-ish night for me. Luke stayed at Grandma's last night so I slept in til 10am, but after my time in the garden (I loath gardening) and my run/walk to the shop and back today, I'm shagged!

Have a great weekend everyone

Phone applications finally found!

For those who know me, I am very much a geek. I love graphs, spreadsheets and all things Mobile related. So it makes sense that I have googled my heart out and found some applications to assist or record my weight loss.

Here are a couple of links I would like to share for those of a similar geek nature

This one takes you to a site where you can download a Points Calculator. Save it to your PC and then transfer it to your phone (either with Bluetooth, a cable, or possibly saving it onto your memory card from your PC then running it from your phone). Its a pain that it uses calories instead of KJ's, but beggars cant be choosers. Let me know if you know of one that uses kilojoules please!

This one here I am completely in love with. It takes my fascination for all things Averaged and Graphed and bundles it into one neat parcel on my cellphone - ready to show off at a moments notice! You can enter your weight each week (or whenever you WI) and it plots a chart and shows you all your losses etc. Very much like the Online Weight Tracker through WW but PORTABLE!! Woot! I spent some time today entering in all my historical data from my Tracker onto this application. Its free and Java based so suitable for most phones (not smartphones or iphones, but you guys have oodles of apps to choose from so its about time we get one! lol).

I'm still looking for other apps so I'll keep you posted if I come across any others.

The week has been going really well. I've eaten my points - no more, no less - and had a well deserved exercise break today after going for my run the last 4 days solid. Good girl!
I have my FIRST EVER fun run this Sunday. It is only 2K but I am looking forward to it. I average about 2.5k on a normal run so it will be nice to be certain I can go the distance while I immerse myself into the world of the recreational runner....
Only 4 weeks until the 5k fun run and I'd be lying if I said I wasnt a bit freaked. But I'll see how I go on Sunday anyway! Baby steps :)

I will be valiantly resisting the call of the scales tomorrow and staying strong with a Saturday WI. I havent sneaked a look once this week :)
Here's hoping for a good result on Saturday

WI day, take 2

I just can't help myself! *Smacks* to me for sneaky WI's but it IS official that I change WI day to Saturday now.
After posting about my exciting loss of 600 grams on Friday, I weighed in on Saturday for one last comparison, and was greeted with a further 400 gram loss!
Which means I lost a whole kilo this week!!!!

Stoked? You betcha!

I've amended my tracker and given DH firm instructions to tell me off vigorously if I WI on Friday.

In other news, Luke is still crook (coming into the third week now) and as a result we've had some pretty rough nights. DH went out last night and I had made plans to drop Luke off at his Grandmothers and go out myself for the first time in recent memory. Sadly Luke's temperature spiked early afternoon so I cancelled my night out and stayed home with him. DH went out and had a LOT to drink and as a result was pretty useless today :)
Luke woke up 4 times last night and I don't think I got more than 2 hours sleep in a row all night so I've been pretty whacked today. Add onto that the mission with Luke in tow to get the car (DH walked home last night), grocery shopping and housework all before 11am when I went to collect a friend of mine from the train station for a visit. More housework and general mother duties this afternoon too. Busy day!

Yesterday, in preparation for my night out, I decided to get new jeans as mine dont really fit anymore. I shopped for a couple of hours and finally found some I liked in the 7th shop I went into, but the BIGGEST moment was when I tried on 2 size 10's in 2 separate stores and I COULD DO THEM UP! Granted, I couldn't breathe or move, and I feared for the circulation to my legs, but I still zipped them up without any buttons flying across the changing room, or the sound of tearing fabric filling the store. Woohoo! Perhaps I will be a 10 when I get to goal? Its so exciting seeing a new body emerge as the weight comes off and wondering what it will look like at the end of the journey.

Also, big pats on the back for me today for getting on the treadmill for C25K. I was so not up to it after last nights lack of sleep but I got a second wind and instead of 3 x 5 minute runs and 3 minute walks, I managed an epic 5, 6, 10 and 6 minute run sessions with 3 minutes of walking in between. My Nike+ Wristband tells me I ran for 3.5km's which is great practice for the 5k fun run at the start of April.

Enough drivel from me - I'm off to bed!
Have a great night

Take THAT, flab!

WI day (yes, I couldnt help myself and changed back to Friday) and I lost 600 grams!!! Thats double the digits I've been pulling for weeks and weeks. I AM SO HAPPY!!

I took the WW Leaders advice of more protein and have made sure I eat at least 2 servings a day. Coupled with 3 lunch time runs this week (which I thoroughly enjoyed), it seems to have *finally* smashed the plateau. And you can bet your skinny butt that I'll be keeping it up!
Only 1.1kg to go over 3 more WI's to meet my next mini goal. And now I really feel I can do it!

I've also noticed my scar bulge is no longer which filled me with glee. Back in the day I had a bone graft from hip to wrist, and the resulting scar on my hip has been a good indication of my weight. When I'm carrying too much weight, there is a bulge above the scar.
Yesterday I noticed that there was no bulge anymore! Awesome, awesome!

have a WONDERFUL day everyone!

Brag Post :)

This week I start working from the local office in my suburb rather than having to drive an hour into the main office. I decided today to go home for lunch and GO FOR A RUN!!!

OMG.

I feel so proud of myself. I've started again with Week 4 of C25K and WILL commit to doing it this time! I have a fun run in April that I want to enter that is 5km's, and I can only run 2k at the moment. By the time of the fun run I should be almost at 5k and I really want to do it. Plus it means another charm for my bracelet *grin*

I had just enough time to pop home, spend half an hour on the treadmill, shower, eat lunch and get back to the office.

I've also been going really well with my food groups this week, trying to break it up a bit. So far today I've had cereal (which I usually avoid due to the points), a banana, wholemeal toast with Tuna and a yoghurt. So if I'm working this out correctly, carbs, grains, protein, dairy and fruit all ingested so far. Not sure what to cook for dinner but I'm experimenting with WW recipes so I'll try to find something yummy!

Please, PLEASE let me have a good loss this week!

Tackling it the best I can

I had my WI yesterday to be greeted by a 100 gram loss for the week, taking my grand total over 4 weeks to 600 grams.
NOT HAPPY! Especially considering I only drink alcohol 3 nights a week now (as opposed to every day), have been sticking to my points, yadda, yadda.

However, in the same breath, High Fives to me as I've hit my 25kg milestone :)

I decided I needed to pull out the big guns. Clearly something isnt working, so I managed to locate a meeting nearby which started half an hour after I decided to go (the stars were aligned!), AND DH took the train to work so I actually had use of a car!
I went to the meeting and spoke to the leader, explained that I have been an online member for 11 months and was stuck. She was lovely and invited me to stay for the full meeting and put some questions out there to the other members. She asked how much weight I'd lost so I told her and she shared it with the group and they applauded. You know when you feel embarrassed yet touched at the same time? Yeah, that was me. 2 people said that they found me inspiring though and they needed to hear a 'success story' (as the leader put it. And again with the embarrassment).

I digress.
I got a couple of pointers - one of which is to eat more protein and the other was to consider going off points for a week or 2 and just listening to my hunger signals and trusting my body. I'm a bit scared to do that, but I'm definitely upping the protein. I even made Lentil Bolognese last night for dinner!
I also got some multi vitamins today and will be changing my breakfast to cereal and skim milk, rather than the porridge I've been having for months now.

One novelty I really enjoyed about the meeting was how all the goodies are spread out on the table to purchase! The WW online store totally sux. There is practically nothing there. So I gleefully purchased my first WW cookbook and a keyring clicker while I was there. I eyed up the kitchen scales too - they were only $100 and through the online store they are $120 + shipping! How does that work?!

I've been invited to go along to the meeting next week as well to see if any suggestions have helped. I dont know what the story is with paying - I'd be happy to as a one off but I dont fancy replacing my online membership with meetings (cost and convenience reasons).

I WI'd this morning as well and for the 3rd week in a row, Saturday was a better result than Friday so I have REBELLED and changed my WI day :)
Taking this mornings result over yesterdays, I am happy to report a 400 gram loss for the week (rather than the 100 grams).

HELL YES!
